A 29-year-old Woodstock, Ont., man is facing serious drug charges after border officers allegedly uncovered a massive shipment of methamphetamine at the Blue Water Bridge earlier this month.
According to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), the man was driving a commercial transport truck when he arrived at the border crossing from the United States on Feb. 4, 2026. The vehicle was referred for a secondary inspection.
During the examination of the trailer, officers, assisted by a detector dog, located 16 duffle bags containing suspected methamphetamine. Authorities say the drugs weighed a total of 266.4 kilograms.
The driver, identified as Kulbir Singh, 29, was arrested at the scene and later turned over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for further investigation.
The RCMP has charged Singh with importation of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.
In a statement, CBSA spokesperson Michael Prosia said the seizure highlights the agency’s ongoing efforts to prevent illegal drugs from entering the country.
“The Canada Border Services Agency works around the clock to stop narcotics from crossing the border,” Prosia said. “This interception underscores the vigilance of our officers and their commitment to protecting Canadian communities.”
The case remains under investigation.
