Woman wanted after 12 retail theft incidents across Toronto

The Toronto Police Service is asking for the public’s help in locating a woman wanted in connection with a series of theft investigations across Toronto. The investigation was launched on March 14, 2026, and focuses on 12 separate incidents reported at multiple retail locations throughout the city. 

According to police, between June 23, 2025, and February 17, 2026, the suspect allegedly visited various retail stores and stole a considerable amount of merchandise. The total estimated value of the stolen goods is approximately $5,000. 

Authorities have identified the suspect as Tanya Lewis, 50, of Toronto. She is currently wanted on multiple charges, including 12 counts of theft under $5,000, 11 counts of failing to comply with probation, and two counts of breaching a release order. 

Police describe the suspect as approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, with a medium to large build and shoulder-length dyed blonde hair. Images of the suspect have been released in an effort to assist with identification.
