Toronto police have arrested and charged a woman in connection with a series of alleged hate-related anti-Indian graffiti incidents at several TTC stations last year.
The incidents were reported at various subway stations between July 3, 2025, and December 21, 2025. Police say they received multiple complaints alleging that anti-Indian messages were written at different TTC locations, causing damage to public property.
In an update on the investigation, police announced that on January 20, officers executed a search warrant at a location in Toronto and arrested a 29-year-old woman, identified as Megan Elsley, in relation to the incidents. Elsley has been charged with eight counts of mischief causing property damage under $5,000.
She is scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 10 Armoury Street, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., in Courtroom 202.
