York Regional Police have charged a 44-year-old Vaughan man in connection with an alleged sexual assault incident and are appealing to the public for additional victims to come forward.
According to investigators from the #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau, the incident began on February 9, 2026, when a woman contacted a realtor through a social media platform regarding a rental listing. Police say that the next day, the realtor allegedlyinvited the woman to visit the property. When she was unable to attend, they agreed to meet at her home to discuss the listing.
Police allege that while inside the home, the suspect allegedly sexually assaulted the woman and committed an indecent act before leaving shortly afterward. Police confirm in the news release that the victim was not physically injured.
On February 16, 2026, Farzad Farhoodinejad, 44, of Vaughan, was formally charged with sexual assault and committing an indecent act. Investigators have released his photograph as they believe there may be other victims.
