Two suspects wanted on Canada-wide warrants in Vaughan homicide: York Regional Police

Investigators with the York Regional Police Homicide Unit are seeking public assistance in locating two suspects wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in the City of Vaughan. 

Police say officers were called at approximately 1:08 p.m. to a commercial plaza near Winges and Rowntree Dairy roads following reports of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers found a 65-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in front of a business. He was transported to hospital, where he later died. The victim was identified by the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario as Sergio Lopes, 65, of Richmond Hill. 

Investigators are seeking Canada-wide warrants for Jacob Wallace, 19, of Mississauga, and Isaiah Thomas Badger, 19, of Edmonton. Badge is wanted by Torotno Police Service also for a separate fatal shooting. Both are wanted by York Regional Police for First-Degree Murder and Arson Causing Damage to Property. Police consider the suspects armed and dangerous and urge the public not to approach them. 

Authorities are encouraging the accused to seek legal counsel and turn themselves in. York Regional Police also thanked the Toronto Police Service Homicide and Missing Persons Unit for its ongoing assistance in the investigation.
