In an interview with RED FM Toronto, Mississauga Malton MP Iqwinder Gaheer highlighted key federal priorities shaping Canada’s transportation sector, economic outlook, and environmental strategy, with a particular focus on the country’s trucking industry. He discussed strengthened enforcement measures, including the implementation of mandatory T4A reporting, aimed at increasing transparency and ensuring fair compensation for drivers. MP Gahir underscored the government’s commitment to tackling wage fraud, driver misclassification, and other forms of employment violations that undermine industry standards and worker protections.

MP Gaheer also outlines the federal perspective on the newly announced Alberta–Ottawa pipeline MOU, the balance between economic growth and climate responsibility, and the recent resignation of former environment minister Steven Guilbeault. He further comments on Canada–U.S. trade relations, new global partnerships, and budget measures aimed at boosting investment, addressing housing pressures and supporting long-term economic recovery.
