Transport truck slides into ditch, shuts down lanes on QEW toward Toronto

A tractor-trailer collision caused significant traffic disruptions on the Toronto-bound lanes of the QEW in Oakville on Friday morning. 

Ontario Provincial Police say the transport truck slid into a ditch, with the trailer blocking all three right lanes as of about 10:30 a.m.  

Police warned motorists to expect extensive delays in the area and advised drivers to consider alternate routes as cleanup and investigation efforts continue.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and there has been no confirmation of injuries at this time.
