Toronto Police seize drugs, cash, and firearm in major trafficking investigation

Toronto Police have arrested two men and seized a firearm, drugs, and cash following a large-scale drug trafficking investigation in the city. 

According to police, the Drug Squad launched the investigation in July 2025. On Thursday, July 31, officers executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant in the Finch Avenue West and Bathurst Street area. 

During the search, officers allegedly discovered 17,405 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 1,470 grams of cocaine, a semi-automatic JR Carbine Multi Caliber firearm, 88 rounds of 9mm Luger ammunition, and a large sum of Canadian currency. 

Police say the investigation led to the arrests of Emmanuel Igarza, 36, and Christian Igarza, 32, both of Toronto. 

Emmanuel Igarza faces multiple charges, including three counts of trafficking a Schedule I substance, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime exceeding $5,000, and several firearm-related offences. He is also charged with breaching a probation order. 

Christian Igarza is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime exceeding $5,000, and multiple firearm and ammunition-related offences. 

Both men were scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice on Friday, August 1, 2025.
