The Toronto Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying multiple suspects involved in a theft exceeding $5,000.

According to police news release, officers responded on Thursday, February 26, 2026, to a report of a theft in the Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West area. According to investigators, the victim had visited a local bank and withdrew a large sum of money, which she placed in the basket of her walker. As she left the bank and headed to a nearby fast-food restaurant, she was followed by three suspects. Two of the suspects distracted the victim by sitting nearby and engaging her in conversation while blocking her line of sight, allowing the third suspect to steal the money she had just withdrawn. The suspects then fled the scene with the victim’s property.

The suspects are described as follows: Suspect 1 is a male wearing a green and gray scarf over his face, a green tartan hat, a black winter coat, dark pants, and dark shoes. Suspect 2 is a female wearing a black winter jacket with a scarf covering her face and brown leg warmers. Suspect 3 is a female wearing a long black puffer coat, a gray knit hat, tan boots, a medical mask, and a dark cross-body purse.

Images of the suspects have been released by police.
