Toronto police seek assistance identifying a man wanted in retail robbery investigation

Toronto Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a wanted man in connection with a retail theft investigation. 
Police have released an images of the suspect and say the incident took place near Kingston Road and Morningside Avenue on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at around 4:48 p.m. 

According to investigators, the suspect entered a business and allegedly threatened staff with a knife while demanding cash. The victim managed to escape the store safely. The suspect fled the scene empty-handed. 

Detectives with the Hold Up Squad are investigating and are working to identify the suspect. Police have released images of the suspect. 

The suspect is described as a man between 5’8” and 6’2” tall, with a slim build and dark brown wavy hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hooded jacket with “Hockey Night in Canada” logo on the front.
