Toronto Police issue Canada-wide warrant in fatal Queen West homicide

Toronto police have identified a suspect in a homicide investigation stemming from a missing person call in the city’s Queen West neighbourhood. 

The Toronto Police Service says officers responded to a report of a missing woman on Friday, December 19, 2025, at approximately 10:41 p.m., in the area of Strachan Avenue and Wellington Street West. 

Investigators say a missing person investigation was immediately launched. The following morning, on Saturday, December 20, at around 6:30 a.m., officers located the woman deceased inside a residence. Her death has been classified as a homicide. 

The victim has been identified as Himanshi Khurana, a 30-year-old Toronto resident. Police have released an image of the victim. 

Police believe the victim and the suspect were known to one another. 

The suspect has been identified as Abdul Ghafoori, 32, of Toronto. He is currently wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for First Degree Murder. An image of the suspect has also been released by investigators. 

This marks Toronto’s 40th homicide of 2025.
