Toronto Police hunt suspect after multiple fires set at University of Toronto’s St. George Campus

Toronto Police Service is asking for the public’s help to locate a suspect wanted in connection with an arson investigation at the University of Toronto’s downtown campus. 

Police allege that on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, between 2:40 p.m. and 4:45 p.m., a male suspect entered several buildings on the St. George campus, in the Bloor Street West and Avenue Road area. Investigators say the suspect deliberately lit multiple fires, causing damage to property, before leaving the area. No injuries were reported. 

Following the investigation, police have identified the suspect as Yuriy Khraplyvyy, 42, of no fixed address. He is wanted on three counts of arson causing damage to property, one count of mischief under, and one count of mischief over. 

Khraplyvyy is described as a man with short dark hair, clean-shaven. At the time of the incidents, he was last seen wearing a dark sweater, light grey pants, and sunglasses. Police have released images of the suspect.
