Toronto Police arrest Oshawa woman in suspected hate-motivated harassment case

Police allege that between Saturday, August 9, 2025, and Sunday, December 30, 2025, the accused sent repeated online communications to the complainant, including threats to kill. Investigators say the messages contained anti-Black slurs. 

Following an investigation, the accused was identified by police. On Friday, January 30, 2026, officers executed a Criminal Code search warrant at a location in Oshawa, where the accused was located and taken into custody. 

Adelaide Theodora Nunno, 21, of Oshawa, has been charged with criminal harassment and nine counts of uttering threats. 

Police say the accused was also wanted on an outstanding warrant held by 14 Division. In relation to that warrant, she was additionally charged with criminal harassment and uttering threats. 

The accused was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on Saturday, January 31, 2026. 

Police have confirmed the investigation is being treated as a suspected hate-motivated offence.
