The Toronto Police Service has arrested a man in connection with a firearm discharge incident that occurred in the city’s west end last month.
On Sunday, September 21, 2025, at around 8:12 p.m., police were called to the area of Lake Shore Boulevard West and Islington Avenue following reports of a gun being fired.
Investigators allege that a verbal altercation took place between the accused and a victim, during which the suspect pushed the victim to the ground, produced a firearm, and fired a shot toward the ground. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Members of the Gun & Gang Task Force, Centralized Shooting Response Team launched an investigation and were able to identify the suspect involved. On Saturday, October 4, 2025, officers arrested the accused near Lake Shore Boulevard West and Long Branch Avenue.
At the time of the arrest, police say the suspect was found in possession of a loaded .38 calibre revolver and a quantity of ammunition. An image of the seized weapon and ammunition has since been released.
The accused, Riley Larman, 28, of Toronto, faces multiple charges, including:
- Assault
- Discharge a Restricted/Prohibited Firearm Recklessly
- Two counts of Possession of a Loaded Prohibited/Restricted Firearm
- Two counts of Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Two counts of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
- Four counts of Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to a Prohibition Order
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
