Toronto Police arrest Caledon man in rideshare sexual assault case

The Toronto Police Service has announced an arrest in connection with a sexual assault investigation in downtown Toronto. 

Police say the incident occurred on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, in the area of Bloor Street West and Queen’s Park. A 21-year-old man had ordered a rideshare when the driver allegedly made a sexual comment during the trip.  

Investigators allege the driver then stopped the vehicle, moved into the back seat, and sexually assaulted the victim before leaving him on the sidewalk and fleeing in a grey Toyota Corolla. 

On Wednesday, March 18, 2026, police arrested Harsimranjot Dhillon, 33, of Caledon. He has been charged with sexual assault. 

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice,on May 5, 2026.
