Toronto man charged in alleged hate-motivated criminal harassment investigation

The Toronto Police Service says a Toronto man has been arrested and charged following a suspected hate-motivated criminal harassment investigation. 

Police allege that between Feb. 28 and March 6, 2026, the accused allegedly engaged in repeated harassing conduct targeting a complainant at their residence. 

Investigators say the suspect attended the complainant’s home on two separate occasions, where he allegedly banged on the door while making racist and anti-Semitic remarks. On a third visit, police say the suspect stood outside the residence and played a speech by Adolf Hitler on his cellphone. 

Police identified the accused as Rostam Rashidkhani, 27, of Toronto who has been charged with: 

Two counts of criminal harassment 

Two counts of mischief – interfering with the lawful enjoyment of property 

One count of causing a disturbance 

Rashidkhani is scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 10 Armoury Street, on June 1, 2026, at 2 p.m. in Room 202. 

Police say the investigation is being treated as a suspected hate-motivated offence by the Toronto Police Hate Crime Unit.
