The Toronto Police Service has arrested a 38-year-old man and laid multiple charges after seizing firearms, drugs, cash, and ammunition during a drug and firearm investigation.
On Thursday, August 14, 2025, members of the Toronto Police Drug Squad, with support from the Emergency Task Force, executed two search warrants; one at a residence in the Jane Street and Finch Avenue area, and another on a vehicle linked to the accused. He was taken into custody at the time of the searches.
From the residence, officers seized a Glock 22 .40-caliber semi-automatic handgun with two magazines, 25 rounds of ammunition, approximately 630 grams of cocaine, a large amount of Canadian currency, three cellular phones, and two digital scales.
The vehicle search resulted in the recovery of a loaded Glock 27 .40-caliber semi-automatic handgun with 14 rounds of ammunition, approximately 107 grams of fentanyl, 28 grams of crack cocaine, 5 grams of cocaine, a scale, and a firearm holster.
John Mensah, 38, of Toronto, has been charged with multiple drug and firearm-related offences. The charges include trafficking and three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, as well as possession of proceeds of crime under and over $5,000. He also faces numerous firearm charges, including unauthorized possession, possession of a loaded restricted firearm,
Mensah was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
