Police have arrested a Toronto man following a firearm investigation that began with reports of a person with a gun in the city.

According to the Toronto Police Service, officers responded to a call around 1:55 p.m. on March 13 in the area of Warden Avenue and Ellesmere Road. Investigators allege a male suspect pointed a firearm at two victims before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

Police later located the vehicle abandoned nearby, where a search uncovered a quantity of 9-mm ammunition.

Investigators from 41 Division later tracked the suspect to Pickering, where he was arrested with assistance from the Durham Regional Police Service. Officers say two firearms were seized at the time of the arrest, including one equipped with an extended magazine containing 27 cartridges.

Search warrants executed at a residence and the abandoned vehicle later led to the seizure of a third firearm.

Police say Olivier Brunot-Nsoga, 29, of Toronto, has been charged with multiple offences, including uttering threats, pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon, and several firearm possession and storage violations.

He was scheduled to appear at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on March 14.
