Three teenage girls are facing charges following an assault that took place outside a commercial business in Stoney Creek last week, according to the Hamilton Police Service.
Officers were called to the area on February 27, 2026, at approximately 12:08 p.m., after receiving reports of an altercation involving several youths. Police say the victim, a teenage student, had gone to the business during her lunch break when she was approached by a group of young people.
Investigators allege the student agreed to step outside the establishment, where she was then assaulted by three masked female youths.
A staff member intervened during the incident, prompting the suspects to flee the scene.
The victim later returned to her nearby secondary school, where staff contacted emergency services. She was transported to hospital by paramedics as a precaution and was later assessed to be in stable condition.
Following an investigation, police charged three female youths, aged 14 and 15, with assault and disguise with intent to commit an offence. All three were arrested and subsequently released on undertakings with conditions.
Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identities of the accused cannot be made public.
Police say they are continuing to work closely with school officials to help ensure student safety and address youth-related incidents in the community.
