Thousands join Canada Day celebrations across the country

To show unity and strength amid US threats, Canadians across the country participated in Canada Day celebrations.

The biggest event held in Ottawa’s LeBreton Flats Park where more than 8,000 people attended the ceremony.

Speaking with Canadians gathered in the national capital, Prime Minister Mark Carney said, “We’ve decided not to pull apart and fight, but to come together and to build. Because that’s the Canadian way.”

Duke of Edinburg Prince Edward also joined the event in Ottawa.

Hundreds of Torontonians gathered at Toronto’s Nathen Phillips Square to celebrate the day.

There were events in Brampton’s Chinguacousy Park, Mississauga’s Celebration Square and other GTA cites. In Vancouver, hundreds gathered to take in live music on Granville Island.
