A suspect has been charged after gunfire was directed at a home in the Town of Newmarket on two separate occasions last fall, according to York Regional Police.

Investigators with York Regional Police say the first incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Oct. 16, 2025, when officers responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Hewitt Circle and Plantation Gate. Police found damage to two vehicles parked in a driveway, as well as the garage and front door of the home. The residence was occupied at the time, but no injuries were reported.

About a week later, on Oct. 23 at approximately 4:40 a.m., police were again called to the same address after more shots were fired. Investigators allege the suspect fired multiple rounds toward the home and vehicles in the driveway. One person sitting in a parked vehicle was struck by gunfire and taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the investigation, officers from the York Regional Police Firearms Investigations Team executed search warrants on March 4, 2026, at homes in Mississauga and Brampton, where they seized a firearm, high-capacity magazines and a quantity of a controlled substance.

Police say Jason Tulloch, 18, of Mississauga, has been charged with numerous offences including attempted murder, aggravated assault, multiple firearms offences and possession of a controlled substance.
