Toronto police are seeking the public’s help as they investigate a fatal pedestrian collision in North York.
Officers were called to the area of Steeles Avenue West and Petrolia Road at approximately 8:19 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, following reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
Police say a tractor-trailer transport truck was travelling northbound on Petrolia Road as it approached Steeles Avenue West when it collided with a pedestrian who was crossing Steeles Avenue West from south to north on the east side of the intersection.
The pedestrian, a 30-year-old man, was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He later died as a result of those injuries. The driver of the transport truck remained at the scene.
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or drivers who were in the area at the time and may have dash-camera footage, to contact police.
