Toronto police are investigating after a firearm was discharged at the U.S. Consulate in downtown Toronto early Tuesday morning.
According to the Toronto Police Service, officers were called to the area of University Avenue and Queen Street West at around 5:29 a.m. following reports that someone had discharged firearm at the American Consulate building.
Police say investigators located evidence confirming that a firearm had been discharged. However, no injuries have been reported.
Officers remain at the scene as the investigation continues. Police has not released any suspect information.
Road closures are also in effect in the area. A stretch of southbound University Avenue is closed while officers conduct their investigation.
