Police investigate after shots fired at Whitchurch-Stouffville home

Investigators with the York Regional Police Firearms Investigations Team are seeking public assistance after a shooting damaged a home in the Whitchurch-Stouffville. 

Officers responded to reports of gunfire on Harold Avenue near 9th Line shortly after 9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026. Upon arrival, police found a residence that had been struck by bullets. Police also say that no injuries were reported. 

They believe the house itself was deliberately targeted; however, police say the current occupants, who recently moved in, were not believed to be the intended targets. 

Investigators say that no information about suspects or vehicles is available. 

Police are asking anyone with surveillance or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident to come forward. Anyone with information is urged to contact the York Regional Police Firearms Investigations Team or provide an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
