Pedestrian injured in collision in Toronto dies in hospital

A 41-year-old man has died after being struck by a pickup truck in Toronto’s west end earlier this month, police say. 

According to the Toronto Police Service, officers responded to a personal injury collision on the evening of March 12, 2026, near Lakeshore Boulevard West and Brow Drive. 

Investigators report that a white pickup truck was travelling eastbound along Lakeshore Boulevard West when it struck a pedestrian who was crossing the road from south to north. The injured man was rushed to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition. 

Police say the driver remained at the scene following the collision. 

On March 16, the victim succumbed to his injuries in hospital. The incident has now been classified as Toronto’s eighth fatal collision of 2026. 

Traffic Services continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam or security footage from the area to come forward.
