Ontario invests $6 million in Indigenous Community Capital Grants Program

The Ontario government is committing $6 million to launch the 2025 intake of the Indigenous Community Capital Grants Program (ICCGP). This program helps Indigenous communities and organizations develop vital infrastructure projects that foster long-term economic growth, create jobs, and strengthen local prosperity. 

Minister Greg Rickford, who oversees Indigenous Affairs, First Nations Economic Reconciliation, and Ring of Fire partnerships, emphasized that the program is about “investing directly in Indigenous-led projects that generate opportunities, support strong partnerships, and build sustainable prosperity across Ontario.” 

The ICCGP has previously funded projects such as recreation centres, business hubs, and cultural facilities;including a recreation centre in Webequie First Nation, a community and business centre in Wauzhushk Onigum First Nation, and a multi-use facility in Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug. 

Applications for the 2025 intake are open until November 13, 2025, at 6 p.m. (EST) through Transfer Payment Ontario. Applicants must register with the system to apply and manage their funding requests.
