Ontario introduces new labour legislation to improve work conditions

Ontario is facing a serious shortage of skilled labour. To fill the gap Ontario’s Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development has proposed a series of legislations. These legislations include protecting vulnerable temporary foreign workers, removing barriers for internationally trained skilled workers, improving washroom access for truckers and courier drivers, and creating policies to allow workers to disconnect from work, among others. Ontario’s Labour Minister Monte McNaughton answers questions regarding the proposed Working for Workers Act, 2021 in this interview with Red FM’s Prabhjot Sohal.
