York Regional Police say that the investigators with the Special Victims Unit have charged an occupational therapy assistant in connection with the alleged assault of a child with special needs in Vaughan.
Police say the investigation began on Feb. 24, 2026, after a complainant contacted authorities to report that their child had been assaulted during a therapy session. According to investigators, the therapy assistant had attended the family’s home in Vaughan to provide occupational therapy services when the alleged assault occurred.
Following an investigation, officers arrested the suspect on Feb. 27.
Police have identified the accused as Roza Hosseini, 36, of Richmond Hill. She has been charged with one count of assault.
Investigators say the accused works with multiple clients and believe there may be additional victims. Authorities have released the suspect’s photo and are encouraging anyone with information, or who may have had similar experiences, to come forward.
