Police have made new arrests in a major investigation targeting organized crime groups involved in drug trafficking and large-scale auto theft.
Under Project Road King Police recovered 43 additional stolen vehicles at a port in British Columbia with a combined estimated value of $3.8 million. The vehicles were intended for international shipment, and authorities say the seizures are linked to the same Ontario-based organized crime network.
Project Road King, has been active since 2024 and involves the Niagara Regional Police, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), and other law enforcement partners. Since its inception, the investigation has led to more than 200 charges against 30 individuals for offences including auto theft, drug trafficking, and conspiracy.
As a result of the investigation, 3 individuals were taken into custody on February 18 and 19, 2026. Efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest a fourth individual, who remains outstanding said police in a News Relese
Those who charged include : Keir McColl, 39, of Ancaster; Tudor Sopterian, 32, of Hamilton; and Dejan Zlojo, 43, of Etobicoke. They face multiple charges, including conspiracy to traffic property obtained by crime over $5,000, conspiracy to commit theft over $5,000, conspiracy to intimidate by threats of violence, unlawfully producing fentanyl, and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. McColl and Sopterian also face charges for failing to comply with release orders.
A warrant has been issued for Nikola Scepanovic, 58, of Burlington, who is wanted for conspiracy to traffic property obtained by crime over $5,000 and conspiracy to commit theft over $5,000. McColl, Sopterian, and Zlojo remain in custody following bail hearings.
Police caution that the investigation remains active and ongoing, and additional charges are possible. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Niagara Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.
