Mississauga woman charged in online scam worth over $100,000

A woman from Mississauga, along with two other individuals, has been charged in connection with an online fraud case in which a victim was defrauded of more than $100,000.

According to information provided, the investigation began in October when the Prince Edward County OPP launched a probe into an online scam involving a resident of the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory in southern Ontario.

Three people from Winnipeg, Guelph, and Ottawa have already been charged in this case. However, on Tuesday, police announced that two additional suspects had been arrested.

According to the OPP, 27-year-old Diana Adde of Mississauga and 23-year-old Kenneth Danumon of Guelph have been charged with the following offences:

  • Two counts of fraud over $5,000
  • Theft over $5,000
  • Laundering proceeds of crime
  • Participation in a criminal organization
  • Possession of property obtained by crime

Both accused individuals were held in custody and were scheduled to appear in court in Belleville on August 22.
