Mississauga, ON – Patients in Mississauga can now check the estimated wait times to see an emergency room doctor at both local hospitals online.
Trillium Health Partners (THP), which operates Credit Valley Hospital and Mississauga Hospital, has launched a new real-time dashboard. This tool allows patients to compare the current wait times at each hospital and decide where to go based on which there is a shorter wait.
The dashboard displays how many patients are currently waiting in the emergency department. The platform also features graphs showing typical wait times throughout the day, based on data from the past 30 days.
According to THP, the dashboard helps patients better understand how long they may have to wait to see a doctor after the initial assessment by a triage nurse. While these estimates offer a helpful guide, THP notes that actual wait times may vary depending on the urgency of a patient’s condition.
