Toronto, ON – Two men are facing assault charges after a parking enforcement officer was attacked while issuing a ticket in a residential area of Toronto.
Toronto Police say the incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on July 4 in the vicinity of Avenue Road and Glengarry Avenue, in the city’s north end. The officer was reportedly in the process of issuing a parking violation when he was approached and assaulted by two individuals.
According to police, the confrontation turned physical as the men confronted the officer over the ticket.
A 56-year-old man from Mississauga and a 54-year-old man from Toronto have each been charged with assaulting a peace officer. Both are expected to appear in Toronto court on August 13.
