Massive drug, gun, and ammunition seizure leads to five arrests in Toronto

The Toronto Police Service has announced the arrests of five individuals as part of a major drug trafficking investigation that also led to the seizure of a significant cache of illegal drugs, firearms, and ammunition. 

On Thursday, July 10, 2025, members of the Toronto Drug Squad, assisted by the Emergency Task Force, executed two search warrants in the Jane Street and Weston Road area. Additional warrants were also carried out at storage facilities located  both in Toronto and Mississauga. 

During the searches, investigators allegedly uncovered: a loaded semi-automatic handgun, a loaded 50 round drum magazine, more than 600 rounds of various ammunition, over 5,800 grams of cocaine, over 2,800 grams of carfentanil, over 1,200 grams of fentanyl and over 280 grams of crystal meth.

Police arrested 28-year-old Toronto resident Onyejebechi Ifesimeshone ,who faces several charges, including:Trafficking a Schedule I Substance, four counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking , Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, Possession of a Prohibited/ Restricted Weapon or Prohibited Device, Careless Storage of a Firearm and Careless Storage of Ammunition  

He appeared in court on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre. 

Four other individuals were also arrested in connection with the investigation and charged with three counts each of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking. They have been identified as: 

  • Jeannette Mesarosh, 54, of Toronto 
  • Christopher Wan, 66, of Toronto 
  • Raymond Carvery, 56, of Toronto 
  • Janet McGlone, 34, of Toronto 

These four appeared in court on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre.
