Man Dead After Early-Morning Crash in Mississauga

Mississauga, ON — A man in his 30s has died following a serious single-vehicle collision that occurred early Wednesday morning in Mississauga.

Emergency crews responded to the crash near Cawthra Road and Dundas Street East shortly after 4:30 a.m. on July 16. According to Peel Regional Police, the vehicle had only one occupant — an adult male — who was found trapped inside when first responders arrived on scene.

The victim was extricated and rushed to a local hospital in life-threatening condition, but he later succumbed to his injuries.

All northbound and southbound lanes of Cawthra Road remain closed in the area as the Major Collision Bureau continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes during the morning commute.

Police have not released the identity of the victim at this time.
