Man charged in online child luring investigation

Toronto police have arrested and charged a man in connection with an investigation into alleged online child luring. 

According to the Toronto Police Service, investigators allege that the suspect used the online usernames “maustech666” and “drmartinjaus” to communicate online with a person believed to be under the age of 16.  

On Thursday, January 22, 2026, members of the Internet Child Exploitation Unit arrested Martin Aus, a 55-year-old Toronto resident, in connection with the investigation. Aus has been charged with making sexually explicit material available to a person under the age of 16 and telecommunicating with a person under 16 for a sexual purpose. He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 10 a.m., at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 10 Armoury Street, in Courtroom 105. 

Toronto police are reminding parents and caregivers that they play a critical role in protecting children online and on electronic devices. Authorities urge families to remain vigilant and to follow recommended online safety practices for children of all ages.
