Man arrested in sexual assault investigation

Toronto police have arrested a man in connection with a sexual assault investigation. 

Toronto Police Service said in a news release that officers responded to a reported sexual assault in the area of Leslie Street and Lake Shore Boulevard East at approximately 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026. 

Police allege that between August 1, 2022, and December 31, 2024, the victim was allegedly sexually assaulted multiple times at her place of employment by the suspect. 

As a result of the investigation, officers arrested 51-year-old Mohammed Shaik of Peel on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026. He has been charged with five counts of sexual assault. 

Shaik was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, located at 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, at 10 a.m. in Room 106. 

Police believe there may be additional victims and have released an image of the accused.
