A Brampton trucking company and one of its drivers have been charged by Caledon OPP after a significant technical defect—referred to as a major defect”—was found in one of their transport trucks during a roadside inspection.

The incident took place when police stopped the truck and discovered not only the mechanical issue but also found that the truck’s daily inspection report was either incorrect or not completed at all.

The driver faces multiple violations, including operating a vehicle with a major defect and failing to produce an insurance card. Meanwhile, the company has also been charged with several compliance violations, such as failure to provide a daily checklist, not displaying a valid inspection sticker, and non-compliance with safety regulations.

Although police have not released the name of the driver or the full name of the company, they emphasized that safety violations will not be tolerated. Authorities warned that such negligence not only breaches the law but poses a serious risk to public safety.
