Canada’s low-income seniors who took pandemic supports like CERB or CRB are now facing cuts to their income-dependent Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS). Kamal Khera, Federal Minister of Seniors, spoke with RED FM’s Prabhjot Sohal and assured that the government is aware of the problems faced by the seniors, and is looking to find the appropriate solution. Minister Khera also spoke about new initiatives in the pipeline for seniors, including enhanced home care, and acknowledged the need for a culturally-appropriate long-term care sector.
