House excplosion in Oshawa under investigation ;Police appeal for information

Police are appealing to the public for information following a house explosion that sparked a major fire in Oshawa over the weekend. 

Officers from the Central East Division responded to reports of a home explosion at approximately 10:05 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026. The incident occurred in the area of Gibbons Street and Annapolis Avenue. 

Upon arrival, officers found the residence fully engulfed in flames. Police assisted with traffic control while Oshawa Fire Services worked to bring the blaze under control. 

No injuries have been reported in connection with the explosion. 

Investigators are now asking anyone who may have cell phone, dash cam, or surveillance footage from the area at the time of the incident to come forward.
