Peel Regional Police have arrested and charged four youths and recovered a stolen vehicle in connection with an attempted robbery at Erin Mills Town Centre in Mississauga.
In a news release, police shared that on December 3, 2025, at around 2:50 p.m., four individuals wearing masks and all-black clothing were seen entering the mall carrying hammers. When mall security and an on-duty police officer noticed the suspects, they began to follow them. Security apprehended one of the individuals, while the remaining three fled the area in a stolen Honda CR-V. Police said no property was stolen from the mall and no injuries were reported.
Shortly after, officers from the 11 Division Community Intervention and Response Team located the suspect vehicle and coordinated with responding patrol officers who boxed it in. When the suspects attempted to flee on foot, officers pursued and arrested three suspects. Police believe the arrested youths may also be connected to a recent attempted robbery in the York region and have laid charges in that incident.
The teenagers arrested and charged are between the ages of 14 and 17. They were held in custody pending bail hearings for the following offences:
- Robbery
- Attempt to Commit an Indictable Offence
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Disguise with Intent (x2)
Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.), the names of young offenders cannot be made public, so the identities of the youths charged in this case are legally protected.
