A school bus carrying about 40 students slid into a ditch in southwestern Ontario on Wednesday morning, sending four children to hospital with minor injuries.
The crash happened shortly before 9 a.m. near Old Stage Road and Middletown Line, south of Woodstock and roughly 60 kilometres east of London. Emergency crews responded after reports that the bus had lost control on slippery roads and gone off the roadway.
Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Ed Sanchuk said in a video on X that four students were taken to hospital as a precaution with minor injuries, adding that no serious injuries were reported.
Police thanked Good Samaritans who stopped to help at the scene and warned drivers to be cautious, noting that freezing rain has made road conditions hazardous.
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash cam footage to contact Oxford OPP.
