A joint investigation into drug trafficking between Alberta and the Greater Toronto Area has led to the seizure of approximately $2.3 million worth of suspected fentanyl and charges against four individuals.

According to the Ontario Provincial Police, the investigation;dubbed Project OLLIE began in May 2025 after investigators received information about a network allegedly trafficking fentanyl between the GTA and Calgary.

On Feb. 10, police executed a search warrant at a residence on Albright Road in Brampton. During the search, officers seized about 18 kilograms of suspected fentanyl, which police say is equivalent to roughly 180,000 potentially lethal doses. Investigators also recovered three cellphones from the residence.

Following the search, 20-year-old Navjot Singh was arrested and charged with conspiracy to traffic firearms and conspiracy to traffic fentanyl.

On Feb. 24, 21-year-old Balwinder Singh was arrested in Calgary by the Alberta Sheriffs Fugitive Apprehension Sheriffs Support Team. He faces several charges, including trafficking fentanyl, possession for the purpose of trafficking, conspiracy, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. Following a bail hearing, he was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on March 6.

Meanwhile, 23-year-old Attarvir Singh was arrested in Winnipeg on a Canada-wide warrant. He is facing charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking fentanyl, and possession of property obtained by crime. He remains in custody and was scheduled to appear in court in Brampton on March 4.

Police have also issued a Canada-wide warrant for 21-year-old Manpreet Singh, who is wanted on charges of conspiracy to traffic firearms, conspiracy to traffic fentanyl, and four counts of trafficking fentanyl.

Police say the investigation remains ongoing. All charges have yet to be proven in court.
