Peel Regional Police say four individuals have been arrested and charged following an investigation into the alleged trafficking and sexual exploitation of several young girls across the Greater Toronto Area.
Investigators with the Vice and Human Trafficking Unit launched the probe in January 2024 after receiving allegations that multiple female victims between the ages of 11 and 14 were being trafficked and exploited in the sex trade. Police allege the “suspects used coercion, manipulation and threats of physical violence to maintain control and influence over the victims, while financially benefiting from their exploitation.”
Police have identified three of the suspects as Mohamad Omar Al-Saleh, 21, of Toronto; Mustafa Abdo, 22, of Toronto; and Yousif Al-Gburi, 20, of Mississauga. A fourth suspect is a 15-year-old young person whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
They face numerous charges, including trafficking in persons under 18, procuring a person under 18, receiving a material benefit from sexual services provided by a minor, sexual assault, sexual interference, obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person under 18, and exercising control or influence over a person for exploitation.
Investigators say they believe there may be additional victims and are asking anyone with information to contact the Vice and Human Trafficking Unit at 905-453-2121 ext. 3555. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Peel Crime Stoppers.
