Officers with the Peel Regional Police 22 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau have arrested and charged five men from Brampton in connection with an ongoing tow truck-related dispute.
Police say the incident occurred on Oct. 31, 2025, when officers responded to reports of a fight involving multiple tow truck operators near Kennedy Road South and Orenda Road in Brampton.
Upon arrival, officers located three victims who had been assaulted. Investigators say the victims were attacked with a metal pole, and two were also sprayed with bear spray. The injured individuals required medical attention.
Following a thorough investigation, police arrested and charged five individuals on Jan. 14, 2026.
Rishav Chopra, 27, of Brampton, has been charged with uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death, assault, two counts of assault causing bodily harm, two counts of administering a noxious thing with intent to cause bodily harm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Jashandeep Singh, 34, also of Brampton, is facing charges of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and three counts of assault with a weapon. Harmandeep Singh, 27, of Brampton, has been charged with two counts of assault. Tajinder Chopra, 20, and Varun Aul, 32, both of Brampton, are each charged with assault.
Police say all five accused were released on undertakings with conditions.
