Hamilton police say that a woman who was injured in a collision Monday morning in the city has died in hospital.
The incident occurred in the area of Barton Street East and Kenilworth Avenue North at approximately 11:33 a.m. on Monday February 9, 2026 . According to a news release issued by Hamilton police, the 70-year-old female pedestrian succumbed to her injuries in hospital. Her identity has not been made public.
In a statement released Wednesday, police confirmed that the woman who sustained life-threatening injuries and has since died as a result of the injuries she sustained in the crash. Police has not identified the deceased at this time.
Police said the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Hamilton Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the incident.
