Edmonton man wanted by Toronto police for homicide of Brampton man in Woodbine Shopping Centre parking lot last month

Toronto Police, along with York Regional Police, have provided an update about investigation into the homicide of Chandan Kumar Raja Nandakumar, 37, of Brampton, who was shot and killed on Saturday afternoon. 

According to Toronto police, officers responded around 3:26 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of Woodbine Shopping Centre, near Rexdale Boulevard and Highway 27. Upon arrival, police found a male victim with gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries but was pronounced deceased shortly after. This marks Toronto’s third homicide of 2026. 

Toronto Police Detective Sergeant Sandra Arruda, of the Homicide and Missing Persons Unit, provided an update in a joint media conference with York Regional Police. 

Isaiah Thomas Badger, 19, of Edmonton, is wanted on a Canada-Wide Warrant for First-Degree Murder. He is also wanted by York Regional Police in connection with homicide of a Richmond hill man in Vaughan in the month of January. Authorities have released images of the suspect and caution the public not to approach him.
