York Regional Police have laid charges against a Whitchurch Stouffville man after a pedestrian was fatally struck by a transport truck in Vaughan on Thursday evening.
Officers were called to the area of Islington Avenue and Highway 7 at approximately 7:22 p.m. on November 27, 2025, following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian.
Police say a 62 year old Toronto man was struck by a transport truck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to investigators, the truck initially left the area but was later located , along with the driver, near Steinway Boulevard and Steeles Avenue in Toronto.
A 65-year-old man from Whitchurch Stouffville has now been charged with:Dangerous Operation Causing Death and Fail to Stop at the Scene of an Accident Causing Death
The investigation remains ongoing.
York Regional Police are appealing for witnesses, particularly anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the collision.
