Ottawa Police have arrested and charged a 49-year-old woman from Brampton in connection with a retail theft at Bayshore Shopping Centre.
Police say the incident occurred on Tuesday, January 20, at around 5:30 p.m., when officers responded to a report of a theft in progress at a store in the 100 block of Bayshore Drive. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, which was later located near the 1200 block of Carling Avenue
Investigators subsequently executed search warrants on the vehicle and at the location where the suspect was staying. Police report that a large quantity of stolen merchandise was recovered as a result of the searches.
The woman has been charged with two counts of Theft Under $5,000. Ottawa Police say the charges are related not only to this incident, but also to other high-value retail thefts reported in August 2025.
The investigation remains ongoing.
