Brampton man faces multiple firearm charges following vehicle Investigation

A Brampton man is facing several firearm-related charges after officers with Peel Regional Police’s 21 Division Community Intervention Response Team (CIRT) discovered an illegal handgun during a vehicle investigation in Brampton.

On Sunday, October 12, CIRT officers were investigating Liquor Licence Act offences involving the occupants of a vehicle parked at a plaza near Airport Road and Braydon Boulevard. During the investigation, officers discovered and seized an illegal Girsan 9mm handgun.

As a result, Satnam Singh, 21, of Brampton, has been charged with; Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Knowing There Was a Firearm,Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm, Careless Storage of a Firearm, Tampering with the Serial Number of a Firearm, Having Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with an Open Container of Liquor.

The accused appeared in Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for a bail hearing.
