The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested and charged a 47 year–old  Brampton resident, Tejinder Dhaliwal , following a sexual assault investigation. Police say the case is connected to online job advertisements allegedly used to exploit women seeking employment. The incidents are reported to have occurred in March and December 2025.

Investigators allege that the accused posted “help wanted” advertisements on Kijiji, offering entry-level data entry positions. Police believe the accused specifically targeted women who were new to Canada. Under the pretext of arranging job interviews, the women were allegedly picked up and driven to isolated industrial parking lots.

In one incident, a victim was allegedly sexually assaulted. In a separate occurrence, a victim was allegedly offered employment opportunities on the condition of entering into a sexual relationship with the accused. The incidents took place in Milton and Halton Hills.

On January 26, 2026, HRPS officers arrested Dhaliwal in Brampton. He has been charged with Sexual Assault and Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration. Dhaliwal was held for a bail hearing on January 27, 2026, and was subsequently released the same day.

Police has released the image of accused.

Police believe there may be additional victims and are urging anyone with information, or anyone who believes they may have been victimized, to contact the HRPS Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit at 905-825-4777, ext. 8970.
